Colombian climatology in CMIP5/CMIP6 models: Persistent biases and improvements

چکیده

Northern South America is among the regions with highest vulnerability to climate change. General Circulation Models (GCMs) are different tools considered analyze impacts of In particular, GCMs have been proved provide useful information, although they exhibit systematic biases and fail in reproducing regional climate, particularly terrains complex topography. This work evaluates performance included fifth sixth phases Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP), representing annual cycle precipitation air surface temperature Colombia. To evaluate this, we consider observational reanalysis datasets, including situ gauges from Colombian Meteorological Institute. Our results indicate that most recent generation (CMIP6) show improvements respect previous (CMIP5), still Intertropical Convergence Zone elevation-dependent processes, which highly determine intra-annual addition, CMIP6 models larger over Andes than CMIP5. We also projections by end 21st century according CMIP5/CMIP6 simulations under greenhouse gases emission scenarios. toward warmer temperatures mixed changes precipitation, decreases Orinoco Amazon September-November increases eastern equatorial Pacific during entire year.

Behavioral Finance Models and Behavioral Biases in Stock Price Forecasting

Stock market is affected by news and information. If the stock market is not efficient, the reaction of stock price to news and information will place the stock market in overreaction and under-reaction states. Many models have been already presented by using different tools and techniques to forecast the stock market behavior. In this study, the reaction of stock price in the stock market was ...

Determination and correction of persistent biases in quantum annealers

Calibration of quantum computers is essential to the effective utilisation of their quantum resources. Specifically, the performance of quantum annealers is likely to be significantly impaired by noise in their programmable parameters, effectively misspecification of the computational problem to be solved, often resulting in spurious suboptimal solutions. We developed a strategy to determine an...

Conceptual and methodological biases in network models.

Many natural and biological phenomena can be depicted as networks. Theoretical and empirical analyses of networks have become prevalent. I discuss theoretical biases involved in the delineation of biological networks. The network perspective is shown to dissolve the distinction between regulatory architecture and regulatory state, consistent with the theoretical impossibility of distinguishing ...

Persistent biases in subjective image focus following cataract surgery

We explored the perception of image focus in patients with cataracts, and how this perception changed following cataract removal and implantation of an intraocular lens. Thirty-three patients with immature senile cataract and with normal retinal function were tested before surgery and 2 days after surgery, with 18 of the patients retested again at 2 months following surgery. The subjective focu...

Persistent biases in the amino acid composition of prokaryotic proteins.

Correspondence analysis of 28 proteomes selected to span the entire realm of prokaryotes revealed universal biases in the proteins' amino acid distribution. Integral Inner Membrane Proteins always form an individual cluster, which can then be used to predict protein localisation in unknown proteomes, independently of the organism's biotope or kingdom. Orphan proteins are consistently rich in ar...
